6 months old!

This big boy turned 6 months old on the day we left his nonno in Rimini on January 7. 

Matteo weighs 19 lbs. 6 oz. and he is 27.5 inches long.  These two measurements put him around the 85th percentile for height and weight.  Some things we love about our boy:

• He will smile at anyone who makes eye contact with him.  He LOVED the airplanes and airport for this reason.
• He loves to laugh-especially at his papa' who is extrememly silly with him.
• He is almost sitting up on his own.  We put pillows on either side of him and he teeters a little, but he's mostly doing it on his own.  He loves it!
• He can grasp on to his toys now and loves to grab anything that comes within his reach, including hair and glasses.
• He also loves to put anything he can get into his hands straight into his mouth.  He especially loves to soak his mama's shoulder while she is holding him.
• He still loves to blow raspberries, especially when his mouth is full of food.
• He is loving solids.  He especially loves apricots and apples.
• He is incredibly observent and curious.  He still examines with great scrutiny anything he gets his hands on, including burp clothes, toys, mama's shirt or even his own clasped hands.  Love his furrowed brow!

Fabio and I think he gets cuter and cuter every day.  He is getting lots of blond hair and his face is so round and kissable.  Right now we are trying to get over jet-lag without much success, so I cannot speak of his sleep habits, but besides that, he is our little angel, making us smile at wonder at every new little thing he does.
