Whenever Matteo learns to say a new word, he becomes obsessed with it. His latest word/obsession is "boat!" Good thing we drive past Fisherman's Terminal every day, and stopping for a quick fix is no problem.
Another new word is "neh-neh." You are probably wondering to yourself what word that is. Matteo calls animals by their sounds, and "neh-neh" is the sound a horsie makes, hence the other obsession, horsies. He has taken a special liking to the mechanical horse down the street at the butcher shop and the merry-go-round at the zoo. Don't dream of putting him on a horsie though. He is happy to just observe.
We still frequent the zoo a few times a month. Matteo especially likes the elephants ("what is it?"), penguins ("genaws!") and monkeys ("ooh-ooh-ah-ah!").
For over a year, Matteo has called fire trucks, "bus!" We can't get him to switch over to "truck." It was a special treat the other day when a fireman let Matteo sit in his "bus."
Can you see his little head popping up on the driver's side?
This peach kept Matteo entertained for a while at the Farmer's Market. He was a sticky mess afterwards, but toddler silence is too golden to interrupt!
I love this shot of Matteo thinking. He loves this boat at the zoo, and I caught him in his 2 seconds of non-wiggliness.
Baby Moses, aka fountain obsession.
