Neh-Neh!

A few weekends ago we made the trek east to visit my parents.  We love going to Prosser during the last weekend in September.  The weather is usually perfect and there is a hot air balloon festival that draws quite the crowd.  About 30 beautiful hot air balloons are in the sky to greet you when you wake up on Saturday and Sunday morning and there are all sorts of festivals and markets to keep you busy.  As a bonus this year, Fabio and I also had tickets to see Maroon 5 at the Gorge (about an hour and a half away) on Saturday night, so it worked out perfect to leave Matteo with Nana and "Tippos."

Well, it's a good thing my parents are good company because you've never seen more crazy weather in Eastern Washington at the beginning of fall.  Wind and rain like crazy.  No hot air balloon festival.  No concert.  Big bummer.  The one highlight of the weekend was visiting a small farm near my parents home.  Matteo has been a little obsessed with horses lately, and there were horsie rides at the farm!  We thought for sure Matteo would be too scared to ride the horsie ("neh-neh"), but we couldn't have been more wrong.  He was in heaven.  He loved every second of riding that "neh-neh."

He could have spent a few hours on this tractor.  The simplest things provide the greatest entertainment for a two-year-old.

Our new name for Matteo is "Country Bumpkin."  Who knew this boy liked tractors and horses so much?

Notice that he still has his rags in tow. It was fun to get out on that rainy weekend.
